Today's workout
My Today’s Workout is the one screen you have open while you are actually training. It is card 2 on Programs, and the same screen whether the session came from a program, from a template, or from you five minutes ago.
What opens
Section titled “What opens”- A program is running and today is a training day → that session, ready to log.
- Today is a rest day → it says so. Easy movement still counts.
- Nothing is on today → “Nothing on today”, with the workout chooser and a link to the full program page.
If a trainer designs your workouts
Section titled “If a trainer designs your workouts”When a gym, estate or hotel instructor — or a personal trainer who invited you — programs your training, today shows their workout. With nothing on today it says “Your trainer has not planned your workout yet”, with Message and Call buttons, rather than a chooser.
Choosing, building and swapping workouts of your own — everything in the next three sections — comes with the Individual add-on. Logging your trainer’s sessions, and starting any cardio, never needs it.
A session is never borrowed from another date. If today holds nothing, today shows nothing — it will not quietly hand you Thursday’s chest day.
Choosing what to train
Section titled “Choosing what to train”Coached by a trainer? This needs the Individual add-on.
With nothing planned, “What do you want to train?” opens. Top to bottom:
- One suggestion, read from your own logs — “Legs haven’t been trained in 9 days”, with your best leg workout attached.
- Focus chips — Chest, Back, Legs, and so on, each showing how long it has been since you trained it.
- Your workout templates — see My Workout Templates.
- Past sessions, ranked for today.
Picking any of them opens a preview of the whole workout, and then:
- Use as is — it becomes today’s workout, as written.
- Adjust first — it opens in the editor before you start.
The suggestion never offers a focus you trained in the last 48 hours, and with no logs at all there is simply no suggestion rather than a guess.
Swapping today’s workout
Section titled “Swapping today’s workout”If today already holds a workout, the preview’s main button reads “Swap today for this” and swaps it in one tap.
A swap is refused once you have logged anything against that day — sets or cardio. Finished work is never overwritten; start the new workout tomorrow, or log it as an extra session.
Building from scratch
Section titled “Building from scratch”Build from scratch in the chooser opens an empty day editor. Add exercise opens the exercise library with suggestions picked for you and a warning on anything that clashes with an injury in your profile. Anything you build for today goes into your own day list, never into the program — so the program’s own day stays due, and that date is scored as swapped rather than missed.
Logging sets
Section titled “Logging sets”Each exercise is a card. Every set is a row: weight, target, reps, and a tick.
- Grey numbers in a row are hints — what you lifted last time, shown so you have something to beat. Nothing grey has been logged.
- Tick a row to log that set.
- Assist records a spotter’s or band’s help where the exercise allows it.
- Supersets, circuits and HIIT blocks carry their own explanation at the top of the card so the grouping is never a mystery.
- A rest timer runs between sets.
- The warm-up checklist and a session progress photo sit on the session, not on a single exercise.
Repeating last time in two taps
Section titled “Repeating last time in two taps”Most sessions are last session, again. So each exercise card offers:
- Same as last time — fills every set with what you actually lifted last time. Nothing is logged yet.
- Confirm N sets — logs them all at once.
Two taps on purpose: what gets logged is on screen, and editable, before it is written. Change whatever was different today, then confirm.
The numbers used are your main efforts only — warm-up sets and drop stages are left out, so the hints do not drift set by set.
How weights and reps are written
Section titled “How weights and reps are written”AtgoraX writes a prescription the way a gym does, not the way a database does:
20 kg each × 8–10 reps/leg
Which means each exercise carries two things beyond the numbers:
| It says | Because |
|---|---|
| Total / each hand | Two 20 kg dumbbells is not a 20 kg lift. |
| Total / per side / per arm / per leg | 10 reps per leg is not 10 reps. |
Your trainer sets these when they build the exercise, and can also prescribe a weight range, leave the weight for you to pick, or mark a movement bodyweight. Volume is worked out from all of it, so your totals are comparable session to session.
When you finish
Section titled “When you finish”- A session summary lands as a notification, recapping what you did.
- If you built today’s workout from scratch, you are asked “Save for next time?” — one tap makes it a reusable template.
- If you loaded a template and changed it, you are asked “Update My Chest Workout?” instead. Say no and the template stays exactly as it was; today’s session keeps your changes either way.
- The session lands in History and in All logs & session summaries.
Offline
Section titled “Offline”Every set logs without a signal and syncs when you reconnect — see Working offline. Timed Circuit / HIIT runs are the one exception and need a connection while running.
